Win Fights

Advanced is the fight team's room. Every class is built around the fighters who are competing, and every class answers one question: what do they need to win? This class is not for everyone, and it isn't meant to be.

This room is not for fun

Advanced is where we get fighters ready to win. Hard rounds, full contact, conditioning that breaks you down. If you come in unprepared, you can get hurt, and you will be uncomfortable.

Every person in this class

01Is in fight shape
02Is ready to work harder than they want to
03Is willing to take damage
04Is a competitor, or a partner a competitor can trust

Showing up to Advanced out of shape or not ready to work is not acceptable. If any of these aren't true yet, you aren't being held back. You're being kept healthy. Keep training Basics and Intermediate.

Class format

Coach's call, every day

There's no set format. The coach looks at who's fighting and what they need, and that's the class. You find out when you walk in.

A fighter smiling in the ring between exchanges

Hard sparring

Rounds at fight pace, with partners who are trying to win them.

Full contact

You will get hit. You have to be ready for it.

Conditioning

A lot of it. Enough to carry a fighter through the last round.

Reps

Fight-specific work, over and over, until it holds up under pressure.

Why it's built this way

A competitive fight school

MMT is already putting out high-level fighters. Our job now is to keep it that way. Every coach here has fought, and Advanced exists to protect the standard that got us here.

Keeping this room right protects everyone. Fighters get partners who push them. Members who aren't ready don't get thrown into rounds they can't handle.

Getting in

You don't just show up

No count

There's no class count that gets you in. Sparring opens in Intermediate. Advanced is a different room.

1–2 yrs

Of consistent training is what it really takes. You should be good where you're at, not just eligible.

Coach

A coach makes the call. Talk to one first. If you're not ready, they'll tell you what to work on.

Straight answers

Common questions

Can I try one Advanced class to see what it's like?

No. Talk to a coach first. That conversation is how we keep people from getting hurt.

Do I have to fight to train here?

No, but you have to be a partner a fighter can trust: in shape, consistent, and able to keep up.

I'm sparring now. Am I ready for Advanced?

Not because of that. Sparring is part of Intermediate. Advanced usually takes one to two years of consistent training or wanting to compete, and a coach's call.

I'm not ready. Now what?

Keep training Basics and Intermediate. That's where fighters are built.

What gear do I need?

Full sparring gear: gloves, shin guards and a mouthguard. Ask your coach about anything else.

Is it really that hard?

Yes. It's built to get fighters ready to win, not to be enjoyable.
